ACCREDITATION
The acoustics laboratory of Turku University of Applied Sciences in Turku is an accredited testing laboratory (T293) by FINAS Accreditation Service according to the accreditation requirement SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The accreditation certificate is available in PDF format here: Accreditation Certificate 2024.
It originates from the FINAS website: https://www.finas.fi/sites/en/Pages/default.aspx (search term: T293).
The accreditation covers the following tests:
- Airborne sound insulation according to ISO 10140-3 and ISO 717-1
- Impact sound insulation according to ISO 10140-3 and ISO 717-2
- Reduction of impact sound level according to ISO 10140-2 and ISO 717-2
- Speech level reduction according to ISO 23351-1
- Sound absorption coefficient according to ISO 354 and absorption classification according to ISO 11654:1997
FINAS accreditation applies only to results provided in the form of an accredited test report.
The accredited test report must be specified in the quotation and order; it cannot be ordered retrospectively. The accredited test report includes the following parts:
- Main report and key test result (with FINAS stamp)
- Appendix 1: Test result (with FINAS stamp)
- Appendix 2: Structural drawings of the tested product
- Appendix 3: Installation method of the tested product in the room
- Appendix 4: Description of the test method
Appendix 2 is primarily provided by the client. Turku University of Applied Sciences verifies that the structural drawing corresponds to the tested product.
The laboratory also performs measurements without FINAS accreditation, which are slightly more cost-effective. This is suitable for product development testing. In such cases, only the test result is provided to the client (similar to Appendix 1 of the accredited report). In practice, the measurement is carried out in the same way, whether it is an accredited or non-accredited case.
